Rice hulls are an effective aid in pressing grapes and other fruits when making wine. They improve the internal flow of juice for better pressing efficiency.
Rice hulls are used when brewing an all-grain recipe with a high percentage of wheat or rye. Also helpful if the recipe contains a large amount of flaked grains. They do not impart any flavor to the finished beer. Use up to 5% of the total grain bill. Typical dosage is 1/2 pound in a 5 gallon batch.
