Our Cara 20 is a light caramel malt. Its light caramel flavour is the result of caramelisation and low temperatures during the drying process. Using as little as 5% of this malt in your beer, head retention will significally improve.
As little as 5% can add depth, complexity and increased head retention.
This caramelised malt can be used for up to 25% of the grain bill.
Approximately 24 Lovibond. Dingemans refers to this malt as “Cara 50” due to it EBC of 50.
