Seating the O-ring properly can be tricky. The manufacturer has provided some nice videos.

6 Gallon Fermonster has worked well for me for 2.5 and 5 gallon batches. You do need to make sure the O-ring is fully seated in the groove and you’ll get an air tight system. Very easy to clean. Happy with the quality of it.
